A new car dealership plans to locate on North Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield.

A conditional use permit has been filed with the Town of Smithfield for a new dealership for Classic Ford at 1324 North Brightleaf Boulevard.  The 7.5 acre lot had been the previous location of Jones Brothers Furniture. The furniture store was razed several months ago.

The lot is adjacent to Shelter Way where the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Fleet Service Facility, Johnston County Animal Control and a Solid Waste disposal site are located.

The former Jones Brother property was purchased in December for $1.8 million by Mamco Rock Hill Properties LLC of Pineville, NC.   Classic Ford, which is currently located at 1698 Booker Dairy Road in Smithfield filed an application with the Town on Jan. 6th for “a state of the art new Ford sales and service facility…” on the Jones Brother site.

The Classic Ford request will go before the Smithfield Planning Board on February 2nd.
